Construction Accident
Settled – we were the referring attorney on this case which was handled by a large metropolitan New York City personal injury law firm. Construction workers were assisting with unpacking a crate that contained numerous glass panels, which was intended for installation on the exterior of a new Brooklyn skyscraper. Plaintiff was injured when the load was caused to fall on his lower body. He underwent numerous emergency surgeries in an effort to save his legs.
It was alleged that the general contractor and property owner had failed to maintain a safe work site, in violation of Labor Law §§ 240(1) and 241(6). Ultimately, the plaintiff required a total of 11 surgeries involving both ankles, both knees, his spine and his left hip.
