Settled – we were the referring attorney on this case which was handled by a large metropolitan New York City personal injury law firm. Plaintiff was a construction worker from Brazil. While descending a ladder, plaintiff’s foot slipped on an oily, slippery substance on the rung, causing him to fall backward to the floor. As a result of this fall, plaintiff suffered herniated discs in his neck, herniated discs in his back (requiring lumbar fusion), and SLAP tears in both shoulders (requiring arthroscopic surgery). He also had right knee surgery.
